Eighth Annual Event Supports OK Kids Korral To Help Children Get Well

(NORMAN, Okla.) Singer, songwriter and entertainer Toby Keith keeps a full schedule releasing chart-topping albums and singles, selling out concert venues and opening new restaurants, but supporting America's service members and helping families of children with life-threatening illnesses are the real anchors on his calendar. This year's Toby Keith & Friends Golf Classic is set for May 20-21.

Now in its eighth year, the event has a "Denim & Diamonds" theme and will again feature live and silent auctions, a dinner, entertainment and a day of golf. Proceeds benefit the Toby Keith Foundation's efforts to build the OK Kids Korral, which will provide a home for pediatric cancer patients and their families while they receive treatment in Oklahoma City.

"OK Kids Korral is going to be different than any other facility in our area," Keith says. "We are doing our best to address issues that arise while a child is in treatment such as weakened immune systems and sensitivity to light. More than anything, we want it to be a home of inspiration, encouragement and hope."

Keith's personal connection to the cause dates to 2003 and the devastating loss of Allison Webb, the young daughter of close friends. In Webb's memory, Toby helped her family create Ally's House, which provides financial assistance to families of children with cancer. He extended his efforts in that cause last year by turning his foundation's focus to creating a cost-free, state-of-the-art overnight lodging facility where multiple families can enjoy a relaxing haven as they work to get their little ones healed.

"We’ve committed to building OK Kids Korral and it’s no small feat," Toby says. For information about the golf tournament or other ways to help build OK Kids Korral, visit
