SHOW DOG'S MICA ROBERTS REVEALS "THINGS" FEB. 19
<(NASHVILLE, Tenn.) Show Dog Nashville"s newest artist may be releasing her debut single and video next month, but singer-songwriter Mica Roberts knows a thing or two about connecting with country fans. Comes with the territory when you"ve built a successful career sharing stages with Toby Keith, Faith Hill, Billy Bob Thornton and many more.
The Locust Grove, Oklahoma native Roberts began visiting radio stations this week to introduce "Things A Mama Don"t Know," which will be released to radio nationwide Feb. 19. And though the song is her first shot as a recording artist, Roberts brings priceless experience to bear having served a music apprenticeship singing backing vocals for some of the biggest names in entertainment.
Since 2003, Roberts has performed with Toby Keith"s Easy Money band. Now the superstar is turning the spotlight on Mica, as he"s regularly done at his standing-room-only live shows. His belief in Roberts extends to producing and singing on her debut single.
"I want to make music that says something," Roberts says. "This is a very message driven song about real life. Sadly, there are a people in these kinds of relationships that never get out. One of the biggest things I"ve learned from Toby is to give people what they need, not what they want. That"s what makes me unafraid of stepping out with this kind of song as my first single. It"s a song people need to hear."
The track was written by Liz Rose, Brandy Clark and Mark Narmore, and its video was directed by the award-winning Michael Salomon. >
